The changing seasons can make things look so different, and so it is with this barn. Sitting in a grassy area during the Spring, Summer, and Fall this old barn seems to express the changing seasons.

However, when the snow falls and a new layer of snow settles upon it, it somehow takes on an almost mystical quality that makes me think about its history and all that has passed through it.  I do not know how old it is, but when the snow covers it, its story begins to be told. There is a dual quality about it, on the one hand it could be a shelter from the storm and the snow, and yet there is also a sense of something very cold and isolated about it. One thing for sure, it expresses the seasons well, especially winter.
