Bad Hair Day!

This little barn swallow had been born on the farm and its first flight was not too successful.

It had made it outside, but had not made it far. Its second attempt landed it in some tall grass near the edge of the horse pens.

It was so brave to just sit there and let me approach and to take its photo. It did not panic and try to flutter away.

It wasn’t until I zoomed in that I could see the “bad hair”. It still had its “baby” feathers on top of its head.

It rested a while, and then gave it another effort and was more successful.
