Fire Creek

Fire Creek .JPG

The name this creek is not Fire Creek but Icicle Creek. It is a creek in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. Normally this creek is very blue, to blue-green, and flows rapidly year round, with spring run off creating beautiful rapids and short water falls as it descends to the valley.

However on this day the creek appeared to be on fire, and had taken a very sparkling orange gold appearance. The reason for this wasn’t just the angle of the sun, but rather that the sun was coming through smoke from the surrounding wild fires. Additionally, this was the only segment the creek that looked this way. After spotting it, I drove a mile in each direction hoping to get more angles and more photos but there were none to be had.
