Stretched To The Limit

Robin Pulling Worm.JPG

In this photo a Robin is obviously trying to get this worm from the ground, and the Worm is obviously trying to stay in the ground.

But looking at the photo later, I realized there is so much more to this photo. The obvious, isn’t all, that is going on here.

I realized that this is a true life and death struggle. And at first glance it would appear that only one life is involved, and that is of the Worm. But perhaps not…

Perhaps this story is also about the Robin’s life. Is the Robin trying to feed itself? Or perhaps the Robin is trying to feed it’s young back at the nest.

What of the worm’s family? Do they even have families? Do we see the Robin as having a more deserving life than that of the Worm’s?

But then I realized it isn’t only about those two things. Perhaps the real story here relates to us as humans too. In this photo the Worm is literally stretched to the limit of breaking. Have you ever felt that way before in your life? Most of us have at one time or another.

During the stretching of your limits, did you think you might break, did you give up, did you wish things were different? Did it make you stronger for future struggles?

As this worm is stretched to the limit, one thing stood out, the Worm is not giving up? But, neither is the Robin.

I won’t tell you who won, but I will tell you never give up?
